Yeah, perhaps Anonymous just doesn't get the point of Fine Tune Friday. It's not some self-congratulatory "you heard it hear first" exercise in hipster-ness. (For that I am thankful.)

I ain't ever heard of Kid Cudi until this week either. Must be cos his album finally dropped. And I don't really hit the clubs or frequent the mp3 blogs (at least not the one's that specialize in the present).

Anyways, I dig this one. Keep doing what you do, FTF!

Well, as obnoxiously as it was put (thank you anonymous commenting for letting people feel they can dole out obnoxiousness without any consequence), I can see the point: it's been all over the place for months. I kind of thought of that before posting, but I have to be honest with myself. This is the song I listened to the most this week, and I'm sure there's other people that I know that haven't been exposed much to this song, but would still love it.

It's not total coincidence: the full album was just released this week, which is why it hit my ears again. I guess I'm still a little old fashioned in not really paying attention until the full album is out. Old habits die hard.

I was actually kind of thinking about this when I was trying to decide what to write, and I was thinking about when I worked in a record store nineteen years ago and sold TONS of copies of Vanilla Ice and Garth Brooks, to the point where I had the sku numbers memorized, but "Friends in Low Places" and "Ice Ice Baby" had been up and off the charts before I ever heard them.

I thought that because I was kind of feeling that it was funny that this song had been a hit months ago, and even though I'd seen the video and heard it talked about, I still almost never heard it.
