The xx's barely-there sound is destined to make their debut this music generation's Dummy, or at least their Moon Safari: an album whose wider legacy is just being great makeout music.

I'm only just now warming up to The xx's cold sound, and I have to admit that their not-quite-on-key voices and over-drugged execution still make me keep my distance, but the dark and rainy recent days have put this sound into a flattering new light, the kind that keeps pulling my attention even if it hasn't gotten my full love. Yet.
